eRegistration for Singapore Citizens

Information for registering Singaporeans travelling to the Shanghai Municipality, Anhui Province, Jiangsu Province, and Zhejiang Province.

The MFA eRegister system (opens in new tab) is a voluntary and free service provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) to all Singapore citizens who travel or reside overseas. Regardless of whether you are travelling abroad for study, work or leisure, the eRegister system allows you to record information about your travel itinerary abroad. A Singpass account is required to access eRegister.

If you are travelling to the Shanghai Municipality, Anhui Province, Jiangsu Province, and Zhejiang Province, we urge you to eRegister (opens in new tab) with the Singapore Consulate-General in Shanghai. The information you provide us will allow us to contact you in order to make sure that you are safe and, if need be, assist you should an emergency (e.g., natural disasters, civil unrest, etc.) occur. Singapore citizens may submit eRegistrations up to 365 days ahead of your travel, for a maximum duration of three years.

You may also choose to opt in to receive updates and event invites from MFA and the Consulate-General via the email provided.

How do I eRegister?

You will need to provide the following information to complete your eRegister (opens in new tab) record.

  1. Your personal particulars (will be pre-filled by Singpass Myinfo);

  2. Those travelling with you (if you are travelling as a group); and

  3. Your travel itinerary, contact information, and duration of stay in the country/cities you are visiting.

I do not have Singpass but would like to eRegister. What can I do?

You may visit the Singpass website (opens in new tab) to apply for a Singpass account. If you need to eRegister urgently, you may contact the Consulate-General at singcg_sha@mfa.sg (opens in new tab) to assist with your eRegistration.

Other Advice

Should you decide not to eRegister, we strongly encourage you to make the following arrangements before leaving for your trip:

  1. Leave a detailed travel itinerary and contact details with members of your family, colleagues or friends in Singapore;

  2. Purchase comprehensive travel insurance which includes medical evacuation in case you encounter any unexpected emergencies; and

  3. Carry the contact details of our Embassies and Consulates (opens in new tab) at your destination of travel with you. Please ensure that you have the contact information of our Embassies and Consulates at your travel destination.
