Apply for Singapore Passport
Information on applying for a Singapore passport for Singapore Citizens residing in mainland China.
You can apply for a new passport online via the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) e-Service Application for Passport Online Electronic System (APPLES) (opens in new tab) and then collect your new passport at the Consulate-General.
Alternatively, the Consulate-General can assist you to forward your application for a new Singapore passport to ICA.
Application Procedure (at the Consulate-General)
Submit the completed Singapore Passport Application Form (overseas) (opens in new tab) (PDF, 124KB) in person at the Consulate-General. If your passport is lost or damaged, please declare accordingly in the application form.
The following documents must be submitted with your passport application.
A passport-sized, colour photograph of the applicant taken within the last three months. The photograph must be taken against a white background, and printed on a matte or semi matte finish (non-reflective photo). Please refer to the ICA Photo Guidelines (opens in new tab) for more information.

Applicant's passport
A Confirmation of Loss of Passport Report issued by the local Exit-Entry Administration Bureau (EEAB) is required if the applicant had lost their passport.
Passport Validity
From 1 Oct 2021, Singapore passports issued for citizens aged 16 and above are valid for 10 years.
For citizens below the age of 16, the passport validity is 5 years. For the 5-year passports, the remaining validity from the previous passport, up to a maximum of 9 months, may be carried over to the renewed passport.

Extension of Passport
If your passport has ran out of pages or reached its full validity, the passport cannot be extended. You must apply for a new passport.

Processing Time
1 to 2 weeks (via APPLES (opens in new tab))
4 to 6 weeks (via the Consulate-General)
The processing time will be longer if your photograph does not meet the requirements (opens in new tab).
You will be notified of the outcome by email. For all successful applications, the passport will be sent to the Consulate-General.
Collection of Passport
The Consulate-General will inform you of the collection date when we receive the new passport from ICA. You must come to the Consulate-General in person with your current passport to collect the new passport. All new passports that are not collected within 3 months from date of issuance will be returned to ICA for cancellation.
Exit Permit and Bond for National Service (NS)-liable male Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents
Under the Enlistment Act 1970, you need to apply for an Exit Permit if you are:
A male Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident aged 13 years and above; and
Intend to travel or remain overseas for 3 months or longer.
