Application of Singapore biometric passport
Information on applying for a Singapore passport while in mainland China.

Please note that if your passport is lost or damaged, you are not allowed to apply for a new passport online.
The Consulate-General can assist you to forward your application for a new Singapore biometric passport to the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), which is the processing authority.
Alternatively, you can apply for a new passport online through an e-application Application for Passport On-line Electronic System (APPLES) and then collect the new passport at the Consulate-General.
Application procedure
One completed set of Form IMM (E)11(OS). The forms can be downloaded from the ICA website.
One recent passport-sized colour photograph of the applicant. The photograph must be taken against a white background with a matt or semi-matt finish.
The following documents (original and photocopy) should be submitted:
Applicant’s passport;
A local police report reporting the loss of passport is required if applicant lost his passport.
Passport validity
From 1 Oct 2021, Singapore passports issued for citizens aged 16 and above are valid for 10 years.
For citizens below the age of 16, the passport validity is 5 years. For the 5-year passports, the remaining validity from the previous passport, up to a maximum of 9 months, may be carried over to the renewed passport.

Extension of passport
Passport holders whose passports has run out of pages or reached its full validity cannot be extended. They must apply for a new passport.
Passport extension is only applicable to National Service (NS) liable male Singapore Passport holders aged between 11 and 17 1/2 years who have passports issued before 15 Aug 2006. NS liable Singapore Biometric Passport (issued after 15 Aug 2006) holders have to apply for a new passport once the current passport expires. Passport extension facility is not available on-line via APPLES.
Collection of passport
The Consulate-General will inform you of the collection date when we receive the new passport from ICA. You must come to the Consulate-General personally with your current passport to collect the new passport. All new passports that are not collected within 3 months from date of issuance will be returned to ICA.
NS-liable male Singaporeans
If you are between 13 and 16 1/2 years old, you need to apply for an exit permit from Ministry of Defence (Mindef) if you intend to travel or remain overseas for 3 months or longer. You can apply for an exit permit through an e-application available at Mindef website (https://www.ns.gov.sg).

Important notice
Most countries required passports to be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. Hence, please apply for your passport early.
