The Consulate-General recently attended ‘The Asian Jazz All-Stars Power Octet’ concert and hosted a pre-concert cocktail reception for our friends in the Shanghai government, media, think-tanks and corporate sector. The concert is led by Singapore’s home-grown talent, famous jazz pianist and music educator Jeremy Monteiro. Known as Singapore’s “King of Swing”, Mr Monteiro is a recipient of Singapore’s Cultural Medallion in 2002, and won both the Brand Personality Award (Asia Pacific Brands Foundation) and the Singapore Tatler Leadership Award (Culture) in 2012.
