Minister Heng Sweat Keat co-chaired the 7th Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council (SJCC) with Jiangsu Governor Li Xueyong on 30 October 2013 in Xuzhou. Nine Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were signed at the annual meeting, spanning environmental services, education and training, integrated mixed-use development, master planning, social management as well as urban solutions. Minister Heng also visited Lum Chang Holding’s mixed-use developmental project to lend support to Singapore companies in Xuzhou.
Besides Xuzhou, Minister Heng visited Nantong and met with Nantong Party Secretary Ding Dawei. Minister Heng took the opportunity to visit the Suzhou-Nantong Science and Technology Park and Keppel Nantong Shipyard. Minister Heng was accompanied by Vice co-chair of the SJCC MOS Teo Ser Luck, SPS Sam Tan, CG Ong Siew Gay, and a delegation of more than 60 members from the government and business sectors.
