CG Ong's Introductory Visit to Hefei, Anhui

CG Ong Siew Gay made an introductory visit to Hefei, Anhui on 18-20 June 2012. CG was hosted to breakfast by Anhui Deputy Secretary Sun Jinlong. Both sides reaffirmed the strengthening economic ties between Singapore and Anhui and had a good discussion on a range of issues of common interest. CG took the opportunity to invite Sun to visit Singapore at a mutually convenient time. CG also separately called on Hefei Vice-Mayor Yang Zengquan who hosted lunch. CG took the opportunity to register the growing interest of Singapore companies in Hefei as evident in the increased investments into Hefei in recent years, and encouraged more bilateral exchanges in the fields of education and tourism. To understand better Hefei’s recent developments, CG visited the Hefei High Technology Industrial Development Zone which is one of the first groups of national High Technology zones ratified by the State Council in 1991. CG also visited several Singaporean companies.
