Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Mr Teo Chee Hean met with Nanjing Party Secretary Mr Yang Weize on 30 May 2012.
The courtesy call by Mr Yang re-affirms the strong bilateral ties between Singapore and Nanjing, and underscores the excellent co-operation in the areas of trade, education, technology and tourism. During the meeting, they discussed the progress made in the Singapore-Nanjing Eco High-Tech Island project, and the mutual sharing of experiences. DPM Teo wished Nanjing well in its preparations for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games (YOG).
Last month, Consul-General in Shanghai Mr Ong Siew Gay had called on Mr Yang during his introductory visit to Nanjing. Both sides reaffirmed the excellent state of relations and pledged their continued support for the development of the Eco High-Tech Island.
