Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam will be in Beijing for an introductory visit to the People's Republic of China from 9 to 11 February 2012.

During the visit, Minister Shanmugam will meet Vice-Premier Li Keqiang, State Councillor and Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu, Procurator-General Cao Jianming, his counterpart Minister of Foreign Affairs Yang Jiechi, and other Chinese leaders.

Minister Shanmugam will be accompanied by former Deputy Prime Minister and Special Economic Adviser for Economic Cooperation to the Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Community Development, Youth and Sports Sam Tan, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
