Message to Singaporeans regarding Polling Day for Singapore General Election 2025

Dear fellow Singaporeans,

Singaporeans who have successfully registered to vote at the Singapore Consulate-General in Shanghai would have received an email from the Elections Department (ELD) containing their ePoll letter. The ePoll letter can also be downloaded at ELD’s Voter Services website using Singpass. Voting will take place on Saturday, 3 May 2025 from 8am to 8pm (Beijing Time).

Do note the following:

• Voters are required to produce their identification document (original NRIC or passport) and ePoll letter for voting. Voters can also present their digital NRIC and ePoll card on the Singpass app for verification at the polling station. Please note that photocopies or screenshots of these documents will not be accepted.

• Voters should refrain from wearing attire with images, or carrying items to the polling station, that may be construed as influencing other voters or canvassing support for any particular party. If they do so, they may be turned away by election officials at the polling station.

• Voters should refrain from bringing pets, sharp objects, and/or bulky items, including luggage, as they will not be allowed into the polling station. As far as possible, voters should also refrain from bringing children to the polling station.

• For voters who are driving, do note that there is no parking available at the Consulate-General, and parking along the roadside is not allowed. While there is a public carpark across the Consulate-General, spaces are limited, and parking charges may be incurred.

• Voters will go through security and bag checks before entering the Consulate-General. Please cooperate with these checks for the safety and security of all voters.

• Voters are not allowed to take any photographs, recordings or video footage of Polling Day proceedings within the Consulate-General.

• To vote, voters should mark their choice with an “X” on the ballot paper using the self-inking stamp provided. Please press down on the stamp firmly when marking your choice. If any assistance is required, please alert our election officials on the ground.

Please note that if you have registered to be a postal voter, you will not be able to vote at an overseas polling station on Polling Day. Postal voters should mail out their Postal Ballot Paper and Return Envelope by 2 May 2025.

Overseas voters who are in Singapore on Polling Day may vote at their allotted polling station in Singapore. The details of the allotted polling station in Singapore would be reflected in their poll card, which would have been sent to their registered Singapore NRIC address or local contact address.

Singaporeans who are unable/not registered to vote at the Singapore General Election 2025 may appeal through the Elections Department to have their names restored to the Register of Electors for the next election.
