VISIT OF MINISTER FOR FINANCE HENG SWEE KEAT TO NANJING FROM 31 MAY TO 4 JUNE 2018

Minister for Finance Mr Heng Swee Keat made a working visit to Nanjing and Shanghai from 31 May to 4 June 2018. During the visit to Nanjing, Minister Heng met Jiangsu Governor Wu Zhenglong and Nanjing Mayor Lan Shaomin and discussed developments in Jiangsu, and the potential ways to further cooperation. Minister Heng and Jiangsu Governor Wu are the co-chairs of the Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council (SJCC), the main platform for our cooperation. Apart from meeting Jiangsu leaders, Minister Heng also spoke at Nanjing University on Singapore-China Relations, and Leadership and Governance, met Singaporeans living in Nanjing, Shanghai and Suzhou, and was the Guest-of-Honour at the Sino-Singapore Artificial Intelligence (AI) Forum on 1 June 2018. The Forum was hosted by the Singapore-Nanjing Eco Hi-Tech Island (SNEHTI), a municipal-level cooperation project between Singapore and Nanjing to develop an ecological and high-tech business park. In Shanghai, Minister Heng visited Shanghai Technological University (STU) where he toured the campus and met President Jiang Mianheng.
